| its a photo of Chanar which is in Afghanistan. It was taken by a 23 yo Canadian soldier serving there in 2006/2007. His ambition is to become a photographer for the army rather than just an ordinary squaddy. Thankfully he is still alive and beginning to achieve his ambition last time I heard from him. I received the pic directly from him as an example of his work.
I felt it was a suitable picture for "solitair" because of the vastness and apparent bareness of the country depicted and the one solitary soldier (approximately in the centre of the picture)
